Content Policy

This Content Policy outlines what content is and is not permitted on the Inkly platform. All content submitted for publication must comply with this policy. Content is reviewed before publication, and violations may result in rejection, removal, or account restrictions.

1. Prohibited Content (Zero Tolerance)

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate rejection. This content cannot be published under any circumstances and is not eligible for appeal.

Absolutely Prohibited:

Child Safety Violations — Any sexual, violent, or abusive content involving minors
Incest — Sexual content involving blood-related family members
Bestiality — Sexual content involving animals
Non-consensual Sexual Content — Content that glorifies, promotes, or normalizes sexual assault
Pedophilia — Any sexualized depiction of minors
Terrorism — Content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for terrorist acts
Criminal Instruction — Instructions for manufacturing weapons, drugs, explosives, or conducting fraud
Hate Speech — Content that incites hatred or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
Self-Harm Instructions — Content that provides specific methods or encouragement for self-harm or suicide

2. Restricted Content (Requires Review)

The following types of content require careful evaluation. Depending on context, narrative purpose, and execution, this content may be approved, approved with a mature content label, or rejected.

Sexual Content

Adult sexual content may be published with an 18+ label if it serves a narrative purpose, features developed characters, and exists within a broader story context. Content that is purely sexual without substantial plot or character development will be rejected.

Violence

Violence that serves a narrative purpose (conflict, consequence, character development) is generally acceptable. Excessively graphic violence designed primarily to shock or disturb may require an 18+ label or may be rejected.

Harassment Themes

Stories may explore themes of harassment as part of character conflict and narrative tension. However, content that appears to endorse or glorify harassment may be rejected.

Self-Harm Themes

Stories may address self-harm as a serious topic with sensitivity and context. Content must not glorify, romanticize, or provide instructions for self-harm.

3. Mature Content (18+ Label)

Content that includes mature themes may be published with an 18+ label. Labeled content:

Will not appear on the homepage or in general search results
May require age verification before viewing
Will be clearly marked with a mature content indicator

Our review system evaluates sexual content on a spectrum:

4. Quality Standards

Content must meet the following minimum quality standards:

Must be original, written work (not auto-generated spam or gibberish)
Must not contain excessive promotional material, spam links, or advertising
Must not consist primarily of repeated characters, text, or filler content
Categories and metadata must accurately represent the content

5. Review Process

5.1 Automated Review. All content is evaluated by our automated content review system when submitted for publication. This system checks for compliance with this Content Policy and applicable legal requirements.

5.2 Rejection Notification. If content does not pass review, you will receive a notification explaining which aspects of the content were flagged and why. You may then modify your content and resubmit.

5.3 Manual Review (Appeal). If you believe your content was incorrectly flagged, you may request a manual review for a non-refundable fee of $1.00 USD. The manual review will provide detailed feedback on specific sections of your content and suggestions for revision. Each work may only be appealed once. Appeal decisions are final.

5.4 Enforcement. Repeated content violations will result in progressive enforcement actions. Authors who consistently submit content that violates this policy may face temporary or permanent restrictions on their ability to publish.

6. Special Cases

Certain content types require specific handling:

BDSM content must depict consensual activities between adults. Non-consensual BDSM depictions are treated as non-consensual sexual content and are prohibited.
Step-family relationships (non-blood-related) may be published with an 18+ label if the content involves adults and is consensual.
Paranormal/Fantasy transformation content may be published with an 18+ label if it involves consenting characters.
Historical fiction depicting historical violence, prejudice, or difficult themes is generally acceptable when serving a narrative and educational purpose.

7. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content on the Platform that you believe violates this Content Policy, please contact us through our contact page. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Content Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our standards, legal requirements, or community needs. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Authors are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
